Porcupine Damage

Porcupines cause a lot of damage in Colorado Springs, and when they do people call us:

A porcupine on our property has started to eat through the trellis beneath our deck. We're concerned about it living under the deck and causing more damage. Tom R.

Hello, We have a porcupine chewing on the bottom of my cedar house (as I write this) and perhaps living underneath. As much racket as I make to try to get it to move on, it won't leave. Do you work in this area and what are the costs for removal? Jessie K.

We have had a porcupine problem for 2 years now. Last year we saw 2 porcupines in our yard, which devastated a lot of our yard and damaged a few trees. We have not seen the porcupine this year, but are seeing all of its damage, including debarking small pine trees we have planted. They love rosebushes and strawberry plants. We tried to trap them ourselves last year, but the porcupines were too large for the trap. Do you have representatives for our area? Paula G.

Mmmmm…those naughty porcupines. We do service Colorado Springs, and all areas of Colorado. We will help with your porcupine problems.

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

For pigeon and bird control, bat removal, or relief from other pest animals, call our wildlife management experts. Many nuisance wildlife companies offer critter capture and control; our wildlife operators provide professional pest wild animal management. We remove the following AND MORE:

  • Bats from attics, eaves and belfries
  • Pigeons from rooftops
  • Swallow nests from eaves, stucco, log siding, and exterior walls
  • Voles that tear and dig up lawns and destroy root systems
  • Moles and gophers that damage golf courses and gardens

  • Feral cats from parks and neighborhoods
  • Raccoons from chimneys and attics

Colorado Springs Wild Animal Control News, Stories, Events and Alerts

The following is an example of situations we deal with each day in the Colorado Springs area:

Last month, we saw a rat on a city street a couple of blocks away. Last week, next door neighbors' dog caught and killed a rat. This morning, our cat alerted us to a small rat (appeared to be juvenile Norway rat) on our deck, eating crumbs leftover from a gathering, yesterday. Lots of black squirrels and some chipmunks in the area. We've heard that rats don't live in the same areas as these other species, but that does not appear to be the case. We live in an older suburb with some areas with densely packed houses, commercial food services (restaurants, bakeries, etc.) nearby. These areas have been known to have a rat problem. But, in two years this is the first we have seen in our immediate neighborhood. Please advise as to whether you offer services in our area and, if so, what rates are. Thanks.

I live in a trailer and have raccoons in my ceiling. I thought they were mice and have put mice poison in my ceiling. Not sure if I have both up there but something has eaten a hole through my ceiling and my son said he saw huge feet and the snout of a coon peering through the hole.
